Autobiography of Swami Omkar Volume I

These days, everything I do is an Offering, my Puja, to the Almighty God, the Indwelling Presence, the Eternal Light, which is the only Changeless Reality and which pervades all, from the tiniest atom to the greatest planet. My Autobiography is an Offering to all the devoted readers who are privileged to read it, and especially to kumari Jnaneswari, who never thinks of herself but always of others, who has typed half the chapters of the Autobiography and also to Sister Susana Reynolds, an emblem of selfless service and devotion who has completed the Autobiography by retyping and arranging the chapters selflessly and lovingly.

Autobiography of Swami Omkar Volume II

May God's richest blessings of Peace that passeth all understanding and Illumination, which is the Divine Heritage of all ever be upon both of them, the two chosen selfless and dedicated Angels of light, life and love, who live like twin sisters, loving each other in His name; for they are one without a second, ever serving His children selflessly without expectation of any reward. This is an offering not only to the Twin Sisters but to all the loving Sisters and Brothers in all Religions and Nations. May God's richest blessings ever be upon bada Rami and chota Rami also, my faithfull and loyal companions who follow me everywhere, even to my Jnana Guha when I meditate there; and upon each and every tiny flower on land and to each and every twinkling star and planet in the sky, for they have been the inspiration of my life.

Cosmic Flashes

Swami Omkar is a mystic. I do not now wish to discuss the value and validity of mystic consciousness. But I must point out that Swami Omkar's mysticism is virile and rationalistic, to the extent mysticism could be rationalistic. He does not claim to have had any peculiar visions or weird dreams. He, of course, has realized the unity of the whole world in the one thing Real - the Spirit. He has no attachment of any sort to dogmas and creeds, nor is his love and friendship limited to one country or nation. His is a global view-a view which embraces Man as such. In like way he worships God-not the God revealed in this religion or that but God who is claimed to be revealed in every religion, but who is fully and perfectly revealed in none.

The Soul of Omkar

"Happiness is in union with God" is his re-discovery for us, the poor, ailing; miserable folk. For being happy his simple recipe is " think of others. There are no 'others' than the living images of your own Self, the One indivisible God. Love all these". Swamiji has presented this tri-coloured bouquet for the new year. In simplicity, how sublime! Indeed he lives in a world of his own "Where everything is God", as Swami Ramananda Thirthaji, a peer of his, bears testimony. "Pour out, pour out all that you have, for you cannot keep it." How resounding and thrilling is this poetic commandment, the be-all and end-all of religion!

Soham

Swami Omkarji is a simple child of God and he has so 'emptied himself' that now God has filled him. Sri Swami Omkarji Maharaj is thus a living shrine of the here-and-now God, and Swamiji lives to radiate this divinity unto all the world. His holy name has thus become a byword in the homes and the hearts of countless people all over the world. Our Gurudev, Sri Swami Sivanandaji, has himself written the FOREWORD to this SOHAM. Therefore, the present writer considers it a blessing to be requested to write this INTRODUCTION. It would not be far-fetched to say Swamiji lives in God. May this SOHAM be a blessing to all seekers of truth.

Meditation by Swami Omkar

The Self alone knows its own depth of mystery; the mind but tries to fathom the Fathomless. It is only when the mind feels its utter helplessness, and becomes fully satiated with the in-draught of the tidal swell of passion, or becomes quieted itself of all toss of the endless waves of desires, that the Absolute casts Its perfect image on its calm and serene waters. It is only when the sense of `I' ness (the ahamkara), the little self, the false 'I' or the ego gets effaced of itself, and the soul emerges from its obscuring mist of maya (the body-consciousness), that the all-pervading, indivisible Self, the real ' I ' shines forth in Its pristine glory, and bathes all, whatever is, in the flood of the splendour of Its Su-preme consciousness, "Aham Brahma Asmi" - 'Verily, I am God.'

Om Japa (Its Mystery and Methods)

Om is ascribed as the beginning, middle and end not only of the scriptures but of everything in creation. The sacred scriptures and the Vedas begin with Om and they all end with Om. There is not a Mantra, a ritual or a worship which is not connected in some way or the other with the sacred syllable Om. It is the life and soul of all forms and names. Hence it has been said: "By repeating the sacred syllable Om, one is repeating all the sacred scriptures in the whole world." And so does assert the Mandurya Upanishad as well: "Om is verily the beginning, middle and end of all. Knowing Om as such, one without doubt attains that oneness with God." "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." So says the Bible too. How striking and thrilling are these words about the word! And Om, the mystic syllable, is only symbolic of the Word.

God Realization Now and Here

Dear Loving Reader, when I speak of God, I am not speaking of the God of mythology or of a particular religion of the East or the West, but I am speaking of the God, who is the Source of the whole universe and who is One without a second. God is the Unknown Something or the Creative Energy of the Scientists, the Oversoul of Emerson and Substance or Truth of other Philosophers, the Beloved of the Devotees, Brahman of the Hindus, the Allah of the Muslims, the Heavenly Father of the Christians and the Nirvana of the Buddists, the Ahura Mazda of the Zorastrians and the Soul, the Goal and the Universal Intelligence of all the other creeds and religions all over the world.

A Personal Letter (The Essence of All Religions)

let us worship God with every breath, for He is the Breath of the breath. God is the Soham Breath - the Universal Breath, the One Indivisible Divine Energy-the Supreme Power - the Infinite and Eternal Silence. Let us have the strength of following the simple Soham ceaselessly, patiently and continuously, without the least break - Thou Art That - with every breath; Thou Art the Soham with every breath. Behold the glory, the splendor of millions of suns, both within and without.

Divine voice of Omkar

a day must come in the lives of each one of us, when the soul begins to call, and when that day comes, then we have to turn within, and in doing so we discover a mountain of negativity and egoistic tendencies which block the entrance to the Divine within us. It is then that you will remember this little book and may be understand the wealth of sadhana contained in it. Read the life of any saint, and you will discover that each and everyone has done just this. Looked within himself and rooted out what should not be there, spending day upon day in awareness.
